This lower Mars is hung up on how things “should or shouldn’t be” in the world. It is for this reason that Mars is Tamasic. Anger creates ignorance. Ignorance is Tamasic. 

In this way he is Lord Vishnu, the maintainer, and the voice of truth in the manifest universe. 

  Rahu gives extremes, worldly success and accumulation, and attachment. His obsessive and driven nature can be a very spiritual force once we understand it. Rahu represents our longing and our desire. If we desire spiritual liberation, Rahu can lead us straight to it.  Rahu is A female planet.

The first thing human beings learned was to pay attention to the heavens.

Visualizing light through a prism, the world of Maya (illusion) is represented by the fragmentation of the one ray of light into seven colors. It is through the prism of the mind / body  / ego that light appears to be its 7 component colors.

When we remember our true nature, joined to the Cosmic Sun, we illumine everything around us. When we forget our true nature, and seek to be illumined from without, we suffer in darkness. 

He indicates how we organize and handle information. In his lower form he organizes sensory data. In his highest form he is able to discern truth from falsity, what is real and what is illusion. An important thing to remember about Mercury is that he is very impressionable, the most skilled and mutable of all planets. 

  He is  presided over by the absolute aspect of God. In this way he is the most spiritual entity in the whole chart. He takes away many things from us, but they are the things we do not need anymore.
